Mrs. Beasley-History

Nissa Beasley is the Gifted and Talented teacher for history at Hug High. She is from Acequia, Idaho, lived in Oregon for a while, and moved to Nevada in 2001. She’s been dedicated to teaching since 2015 and has taught in the Reno area since 2017, teaching at other schools such as Mendive. She has two dogs: Maggie, a Labrador mix, and Missy, a Jack Russel Beagle mix. She has a very active lifestyle and loves to play softball and watch college football during her spare time. She likes to listen to alternative music and her favorite band is Pearl Jam.

Ever since she began teaching at Hug, her experience has been “so far great, supportive, and so helpful” and she likes the “diversity of people and cultural backgrounds, which keeps it interesting” most about Hug. As a teacher she is very tenacious and doesn’t give up easily to challenges. She is also very caring for the well-being of all her students, as her goals for the school year are to “help the seniors graduate,” “get to know the students better,” and to “have fun during the year.”
