Hug’s First Science Bowl Team

Alexander Ryan, Staff Writer

Hug High School’s first Science Bowl team made its debut this school year.

Science Bowl tests competitors’ abilities to remember facts and work problems in a time crunch. Students have five seconds to answer questions based on scientific fields such as biology and chemistry, as well as work math problems with difficulty levels up to calculus. Teams are comprised of five members each, four competitors and one alternate.

The team will be lead by science teacher Mrs. Herrera. Practices are on Mondays, leading up to a competition in January. Students can see Mrs. Herrera in C-12 for details about joining the team.
