Hug Hawks Basketball Working Hard on the Court
June 30, 2019
As the winter basketball season slowly comes to an end, our varsity programs have proven their strength and potential to themselves, as well as to the community.
The Lady Hawks have certainly been turning heads, seeing that there has been notable growth within the program. With their current 7 – 11 overall standing, our Lady Hawks plan on ending the season strong – with games against Reed, Spanish Springs and McQueen.
“We’ve been working since the end of the last season, working hard to improve our skills”, #23, Jenifer Queahpama said, “We work as a team. There’s not one individual controlling everything. We all come together as one to make the most of what we’re doing”.
The fight that our Lady Hawks put up every game is a clear display of the drive and heart, of each player.
“We push each other to do our best, like when we get down on each other, we pick each other back up,” says #32 Kimberly Romero.
Each game is a battle which you have to fight to win. Unfortunately, we tend to fall short sometimes.
“Playing a sport isn’t all about winning, it’s about your potential”, says, #21, Kimo Masina. So far, the boys have a 7 – 14 overall record, showing tremendous growth, including wins over Wooster, Carson, and McQueen.
Our Players have set the stage for success, with intentions of continuing their hard work throughout the offseason.
Be sure to support our Hug Hawks, when we battle the McQueen Lancers on Tuesday, February 12 @5:15 and @ 7:00 for Senior Night.
