“I enjoy being involved in our school community, as I feel it prepares me for my future and just overall enhances my high school experience.” With her position as Sports Editor she hopes to make efforts toward reenstating a sense of control and pride within our school's sports teams, while also enhancing the school's narrative through athletics - a very defining factor for any school. This year, Yesenia looks forward to competing in her last year of high school sports working alongside her sister, Cristina, Hug alumna and Assistant Girl's Varsity Coach. “Having my sister be a part of my final basketball season here at Hug is something very special; she's a role model, best friend, and mentor, all in one.” Motivated by her family, she plans on continuing her education after high school at UNR.
